Millions of people in North Carolina face food insecurities and some people in our own community do not have access to affordable and nutritious food. Our Y is working hard to bridge this gap and provide access to our community.

Thanks to donations and grant funds, we have been delivering food boxes to identified families in the area on a weekly basis ever since the pandemic hit in March of 2020. After a year of serving these families, we must pause this version of the program to evaluate the most effective way to continue addressing food insecurities. While we complete the program review process, we will be ending the current food box delivery program. Our last delivery will be on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. We have provided information below about local food pantries that have been operating during the pandemic. They may be able to provide a food box to you. We recommend contacting them before driving there to see if hours have changed or there are other requirements to get a box.

If you or someone you know is in need of a food box during this time, please e-mail We have implemented a waitlist and may still be able to provide food to families in crisis.
